With almost one million visitors a year Dublin Zoo is one of the most popular attractions in all of Ireland. The park itself is located inside the Phoenix Park, a giant park on the North-Western side of the River Liffey. The Zoo gives home to around 600 animals, and it is a modern park, even though it is very old. In fact Dublin Zoo opened its doors already in 1831. Since then much has happened, but the atmosphere of the zoo stays the same. Inside the zoo you can enjoy the view of lots of animals as you walk around in a peaceful area with gardens and lakes.
Dublin Zoo covers an area of 28 hectare, and it has an entrance fee on 15,50 Euro for adults and 11 Euro for children. With the Dublin Pass you can get free entrance to Dublin Zoo.
