During the Christmas period there are plenty of things to do in the capital of Ireland. There are lots of festivals, markets, different concerts and other activities in the city during this time of the year.
In the city this year visitors can experience the joy of George Frideric Handel’s oratorio. Handel was a German Baroque composer and one of the most outstanding composers of all time as well. He became famous for his operas, oratorios and anthems. Handel’s most famous oratorio the Messiah which he composed in 1742 will be performed again in Dublin. The first time it was performed in 13th April in 1742 on Fishamble Street. The Messiah oratorio will be performed by the Irish Baroque Orchestra and it is a perfect opportunity to get in to the festive spirit. The concert will be held at Dublin’s Christ Church Cathedral this December.
The Messiah will be performed 5th December in 2014. Tickets for the concert are already available. Full priced tickets are for 30€, student tickets are for 10€ and tickets for children under 12 are 5€.
