Andre Rieu is a Dutch violinist and conductor who is best known as the former of the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra. Rieu with the Johann Strauss Orchestra turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide known musical act as successful as some of the best known pop and rock music acts.
He begun studying violin at a really early age and from 1974 to 1977 he attended the Music Academic in Brussels. Later he performed as a violinist with the Limburg Symphony Orchestra. 1987 he formed his own production company and the Johann Strauss Orchestra. The Johann Strauss Orchestra included 12 members after it began and they had their first concert in 1988. Now the orchestra performs with between 80 and 150 musicians.
Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra are on tour this year. They will perform in many countries and different cities all over the world. The visitors of the concert can experience the Johann Strauss Orchestra and Andre Rieu unique performances and be part of a colourful concert with full of surprises. Rieu and his orchestra will be on stage in Dublin. Dubliners can enjoy two of their concerts during a weekend in December 2014. They will perform in The O2 in Dublin on Saturday 6th December 2014 and on Sunday 7th December 2014.
